This 4 color print project involved updating an existing catalog with new page layouts, editing in new text and repairing most of the illustrations. The main problem with the illustration was that the files were poorly built and would not render correctly through the rip. The client did not have a budget to have me redraw each illustration and asked if I could find an economical solution. After attempting to fix the illustrator files, the best way to handle the repairs turned out to be converting the files to rasterized layers in photoshop.
Why am I highlighting this project?
This project shows problem solving on adobe illustrator files that would not render correctly. Converting them to layered photoshop files and then re-drawing the broken parts of the illustration saved the client time and money.
